TLDR if you need standard equipment like a 29" sandwich prep go with dukers same quality better price, if you need custom sized equipment like a 17" sandwich prep table, or 15" Freezer go with atosa, more options but more expensive. IMO both brands quality is similar and are good quality, in a nutshell if you don't get a lemon that breaks in under 7 days your unit should last at least 5 years if properly maintained and cleaned before any parts need to be replaced. Disclaimer: I sell dukers equipment, but not Atosa as of yet
History of the Brands
Both Dukers and Atosa are two well known affordable brands in recent years, that are OEM Manufacturers, and not private labels, and both companies are owned and manufacturered in China, like most things these days.
Dukers was founded back in 2003, and currently does 20 Million in revenue per year in the USA, selling between 12,000-18,000 Units per year. Likewise for Atosa was also Founded in 2003 and does 28 million in revenue per year in the USA sells 12000-15000 units a year in the US. Atosa entered the US market in 2013 and Dukers in 2017, giving Atosa more history here.
In my opinion regardless of which one you choose their quality is the nearly indistinguishable in which the units should go for 5-10 years before requiring any repairs if installed properly and on a Regular Maintenance Schedule!!! (We all know people get lazy and don't maintain things properly).
The only thing you really need to consider is Price and sizing if you're going with dukers or atosa, and some minor details below
The Dukers brand keeps everything under their name whether its a refrigerator or deep fryer, and atosa has Atosa for Refrigeration and a subbrand name of "Cookrite" for their Deep fryers and cooking equipment, so same company different name.
Dukers advantage has focused on simplicity with the most common sizes people need but at a better price, so if you need the bare necessities and not custom sizing Dukers is your option
Product | Dukers Price | Atosa Price | Difference |
2 Door Refrigerator | 2902 | 3093 | 191 |
1 Door Freezer | 2279 | 2644 | 365 |
48" Sandwich Prep Table | 2212 | 2464 | 252 |
Deep Fryer 50 LB Quantity: 2 | 2448 | 2736 | 288 |
36" Griddle Manual Griddle | 1011 | 1201 | 190 |
24" Radiant Broiler | 770 | 998 | 228 |
Total Cost | 11622 | 13136 | 1514 |
In this Scenario for decking out a whole Commercial Kitchen, you would save $1514 going with Dukers equipment if you needed common size equipment at MAP Pricing (Minimum advertised pricing)
Atosa wins if you need Oddball sizing as seen below where dukers doesn't have units available for many of the more unique sizing. In that case go with atosa as the winner.
Product | Dukers Price | Atosa Price |
4 Half Door Refrigerator | N/A | 3815 |
1 Door Slim 18" Freezer | N/A | 4040 |
17" Slim Sandwich Prep Table | N/A | 2025 |
Deep Fryer 35 LB Quantity: 2 | N/A | 2704 |
36" Griddle Thermostatic Griddle | N/A | 2245 |
24" Char Rock Broiler | 827 | 998 |
Total Cost | 827 | 15827 |
